West Asian Games (also known as WAG & formerly known as West Asian Games Federation (WAGF)) are a bi-annual multi-sport event held among the athletes from West Asia.At present, WAG are joined by thirteen members namely Bahrain, Iran, Iraq, Jordan, Kuwait, Lebanon, Oman, Palestine, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Syria, United Arab Emirates, and Yemen.

The West Asian Games were first organised in Tehran, Iran and were considered the first of their kind. The success of the Games led to the creation of the West Asian Games Federation (WAGF) and the intention of hosting the Games every 4 years.

The West Asian Games is the newest of 5 Regional Games of the OCA. The others are the Central Asian Games, the East Asian Games, the South Asian Games, and the South East Asian Games (or SEA Games).[1]
